ZEVEX | Introduction to Moog

Valued Customers and Colleagues,

Some of you may be aware that Curlin Medical and Zevex International were recently acquired by Moog, Inc. as part of its entry into the medical devices arena. We wanted to let you know that in the coming months you’ll be seeing the Moog brand across all customer communications, related marketing activities, and eventually, products as well. This reflects more than just a name change. Unifying our companies—both organizationally and symbolically under the Moog brand—brings several benefits, the most important being our ability to increase our value to our customers and the patients they serve. The purpose of this letter is to begin a conversation, sharing with you our thinking and our plans.

It may be helpful to provide some information on who we are, and why we are here. Briefly, Moog is an advanced technology company, best known for developing solutions for mission-critical applications where failure is unacceptable—from space vehicles and satellites, to commercial aircraft, to CAT Scan machines, and even Formula 1 race cars. Our expertise lies in applying advanced technologies to the precision control of motion and fluids. Underlying this expertise is a set of values and beliefs that guides our actions: we like to solve challenging problems that make a difference; we strive to be flexible to our customers’ unique needs; we do what we say we’ll do; and we believe close working relationships make for better results.

Bringing together Zevex and Curlin with Moog provides a remarkable foundation for Moog’s entry into the medical devices field, and a compelling proposition for our customers. We believe there is a need and opportunity for a company that brings a genuine dedication to delivering superior products and support (like Zevex and Curlin), but that also has the scope, scale, stability and resources – financial, technical, and organizational – to best support both your clinical and operational objectives. Some key objectives going forward:

  • Preserve the strengths of the Curlin and Zevex organizations relating to products, services and people
  • Ensure the consistency and quality of customer and patient experiences currently being delivered during this transitional period
  • Develop a focused expertise in a range of medical pump technologies, fluid delivery systems, and components that will simplify processes, increase safety, and enhance outcomes
  • Continue to utilize our expertise in the development and manufacture of ultrasonic sensors and ultrasonic surgical devices
  • Bring to bear the considerable resources of Moog to improve offerings, increase assurance, and expand capabilities
  • Increase our knowledge and understanding of, and connection to, customer and patient needs

While all of our offerings will be united under the Moog brand, the Zevex Enteral and Curlin Infusion names will be retained to represent specific product lines. Good things are already happening as a result of our collective efforts, such as the recent launch of an on-board patient medication safety software, Protocol Library, in Curlin Infusion products, and Zevex Enteral’s new Orange small volume enteral pump (we’d be happy to share more information on these with you—just let us know).

I hope you have a better idea of who Moog is, and more importantly, how our plans will benefit you. We realize that our continued success and growth is built on our genuine understanding and commitment to our customers and the patients they serve. We appreciate the opportunity to continue to do so.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, or your Moog (formerly Curlin/Zevex) representative.

Sincerely,

Martin Berardi
